CEREMONY

All degree candidates are asked to meet at 7 p.m. to start line-up procedures.

RECEPTION

The President's Office will host a reception immediately following the ceremony. Friends, family, and faculty are invited to join in congratulating the new graduates. Light refreshments will be served.

SPEAKER

Sylvia Medina ’93 will provide the commencement address. She is president and chief executive officer of Idaho Falls-based North Wind, Inc. The environmental consulting, professional technical services and construction company was incorporated in 1997. In 2007, she received the Fast Five Award from Women Impacting Public Policy and the Protégé of the Year Award from the Department of Energy. Medina earned a master’s degree in interdisciplinary studies–waste management from the University of Idaho.

PRESIDENT’S MEDALLION

Clifford A. Brady Jr. will receive the President’s Medallion. He has had a profound impact on his community and the state of Idaho as a businessman, civic leader and advocate for education. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, Brady started his business career with Beneficial Finance Company. He later started his own business, Brady’s Super Home Store in Jerome, and moved the business to Idaho Falls in 1965 and opened a second store in Pocatello. He retired in 2001. Active in the regional business community, he served as president of the Greater Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce and was twice selected as the chamber’s Ambassador of the Year. He is a four-time recipient of the Wayne Hammond Award for service to the chamber. As an education advocate, Brady has lobbied for strong funding for education. Mr. Brady is a member of the Eastern Idaho Technical College Foundation Board and also serves on the college’s Business Advisory Board and Technical Advisory Board. In addition, he is a member of the University Place Advisory Council, and has been honored with the Idaho Falls Friend of Education Award.
