University of Idaho Records Management
Mission: As a state mandated function, our mission is to ensure access to past, present, and future records created and maintained by the University in accordance with federal, state, and university laws, rules, regulations, policy, and procedures in the support of the educational, research, and outreach functions of the University of Idaho.
Vision: Records Management will provide or coordinate central efforts and services related to records and information management, and will provide expert records-related advice, guidance, and policy to organizational units within the University of Idaho community. Records Management provides:
- Policy recommendation and guidance to the University of Idaho community in the area of record determination, retention, storage and dispoal of official UI records.
- Management of the UI contract for document pick-up and disposal with Shred-It

The records center located in the basement of the Student Union Building is available for storage, reference and diposal of records to UI departments. The center also provides archival of vital and long term records of the UI in accordance with state, SBoE and local retention schedules.
