The Women’s Center and various UI student groups will auction “Katrina baskets,” which will be decorated with a variety of goods at the 10th annual WomenWorks holiday art fair Nov. 11-12 in the UI Student Union Building Ballroom. All proceeds will go to a women’s shelter in the hurricane-impacted area of Louisiana. Friday’s hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday’s hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.
As many as 75 T-shirts left over from the Idaho Repertory Theatre season and other University of Idaho stage promotions were recently sent to the Katrina Hurricane Relief efforts, said Cleo Fleming, administrative assistant for the department of theatre and film at UI. Information: 885-6465.
UI-WSU music faculty concert to benefit Katrina survivors Sept. 13 reaped $1,913 from the more than 200 who attended. Donations are still being accepted. Send to P.O. Box 4015, Moscow, Idaho, 83844-4015 or relay directly to the American Red Cross.
UI Chemistry Office in Renfrew 116 is a drop-off point for school supplies, toys, clothing and books to send to the disaster relief effort, via the Red Cross.
Under the direction of the President’s Office at the University of Idaho, the Student Alumni Relations Board (SArb) is coordinating volunteers to collect donations at all athletic and cultural events throughout the school year. All proceeds will go directly to the American Red Cross for the relief of those affected by Hurricane Katrina. People interested in helping with this project may e-mail katrinarelief@uidaho.edu.
