Mission: To provide a safe, secure, reliable, cost-effective, legally- and regulatorily compliant central e-commerce solution to the University of Idaho, that meets the current and developing needs of the University community.
Vision: We will make available to the University of Idaho community a set of services that allows them to develop applications and processes that involve the transfer of funds across the internet in a safe and secure manner. We will continuously enhance our services in order to meet the evolving needs of the University community. Background: The University of Idaho has, in partnership with Touchnet Information Systems, developed a application programming interface (API) that allows web developers within the University of Idaho community to e-commerce enable their applications with a minimum of effort.
Developers using the API can choose to enable some or all of the payment methods supported by the API, which presently consist of credit cards and webcheck payments, but may include such things as PINless debit cards and payroll deduction in the future.
The UI Touchnet Web API was developed to allow departments within the University to develop their own web applications on their own web servers while allowing them to use Touchnet functionality. |
