GJIREVO - Saved Output Review Form

Saved Output Review Form (GJIREVO) - Version 7.3

This form is used to display output from a job or report that you ran on the Process Submission Control Form (GJAPCTL) and saved to the database.

Use this window to display output from a job or report that you ran on the Process Submission Control Form (GJAPCTL) and saved to the database.
Once you display the output on GJIREVO, you can:

• Delete the output from the database:
1. Access the Saved Output Review Form (GJIREVO).
2. Enter the Process that created the output.
3. Enter the Number that identifies the specific job or report that was run.
4. Enter the File Name of the output file.
5. Select Delete Output from the Options menu.
6. To delete the file, click OK in the dialog box.

Reprint the output from the database:
**You must have a network printer. 
1. Access the Saved Output Review Form (GJIREVO).
2. Enter the Process that created the output.
3. Enter the Number that identifies the specific job or report that was run.
4. Enter the File Name of the output file.
5. Select Reprint Output from the Options menu.
6. Enter the network printer name and the format (e.g. landscape).
7. Click Print to reprint the output.

To View/Print Document via a new web browser:
**If you do not have a network printer, you can print from this option.
1. Access the Saved Output Review Form (GJIREVO).
2. Enter the Process that created the output.
3. Enter the Number that identifies the specific job or report that was run.
4. Enter the File Name of the output file.
5. Select Show Document (Save and Print File) from the Options menu.

To Save output to your Desktop:
1. Access the Saved Output Review Form (GJIREVO).
2. Enter the Process that created the output.
3. Enter the Number that identifies the specific job or report that was run.
4. Enter the File Name of the output file.
5. Select Save to Desktop from the Options menu.

**Troubleshooting
I just ran a job, but I don't see the output in GJIREVO!
The job must run to completion before you will see any output in GJIREVO. This is one way to tell that your program is done.

I double-clicked in the File Name field, but it just gives me a window that says *ERROR* Process name must be entered!
After you click on the OK button, you will notice that the form has taken you back to the Process field. If you now double-click in the Process,
field, you will notice that at the bottom of the form, it will have a message saying *ERROR* You do not have any Processes saved in the database.
This means that you do not have any output files left in the database. Output files older than 5 days are automatically deleted.

When I select Options -> Show Document (Save and Print File), my browser opens but I get an error saying that I need to contact the Registrar's Office!
Exit Banner completely and log back in. The option that opens your output file in a browser is actually sending the file through the Registrar's server.
This is the same server that gives us web registration, web open enrollment, and other services. When this happens, the Registrar's server thinks
your session is lost. Although you can continue using Banner successfully, you cannot save and print your file until you exit Banner and come back in.

How do I get to my output file without ftp?
With Banner 6.0 came the functionality to store output files in the database, making the files accessible without needing an operating system account
on the database server. When a report is run through Banner job submission (GJAPCTL), the report is run on the server by a common userid, and the
output is written to a file. When the report is complete, the contents of that file are printed (if a printer was specified), then written into the database.
At that point, the person who ran the job can view the output in the form GJIREVO.

If you have a network printer that has been set up in Banner, you can specify that printer in GJAPCTL when you start the job. The output will be sent
to that printer. It also will be put into the database, where you can use GJIREVO to view, save, or print.

If you do not have a network printer, you will need to use the GJIREVO form to view, save, and print the file locally.
