Banner "Special Print Stock" Names

When initiating processes (such as reports) from Banner screen GJAPCTL, the form allows entry of a "Special Print Stock" field. At University of Idaho, this field is used to communicate a slightly-different item of information. The word that's entered is treated as a "Form Setup", meaning that the word specifies several printing parameters:

  • Page orientation.
  • Font type and size.
  • Page margins.
  • and many others.

At this time, the default Form Setup is 'landscape'. However, in the future, this is expected to be selectable by each Banner user. When that happens, this documentation will explain how to display and change the default Form Setup.

General Use Setup Names

LANDSCAPE
Landscape orientation, 132 columns wide, 58 lines deep. This is the most-used setup for standard Banner reports.

L144
A wider landscape mode that produces up to 144 columns per line, with up to 65 lines per page. (Of course, this results in type that's less easy to read.)

L275
A very wide landscape mode designed for 14-inch (legal) paper that produces up to 275 columns per line, with up to 58 lines per page. (The characters produced are very small.)

PORTRAIT
Portrait orientation, 80 columns wide, 58 lines deep.

REPORT
Landscape orientation, 106 columns wide, 44 lines deep. This setup allows larger print for reports that aren't too wide.
