| Risk Reduction/Alcohol Education Grants |
|
 |
The Division of Student Affairs offers grants to student organizations to promote alcohol education and risk reduction. These grants are designed to assist student organizations in creating alcohol education programs and to create changes to strengthen risk management practices. Funding for these grants is provided primarily by generous contributions from the University of Idaho Parents Association.
Student Organizations are invited to apply for these funds by submitting a brief 2 – 3 page proposal that describes how the funds will be used to address alcohol education and risk reduction. Each grant will be limited to $500. Groups may submit joint proposals to sponsor larger projects that require greater financial support.
Proposals are limited to three pages and must include the following elements:
- Statement of Purpose: Describe the proposed project briefly and clearly including the following elements.
*project goals
*population that will be served
*who will be responsible for the project
*a proposed timeline for major elements of the project
- Budget: A brief but complete budget must be submitted. The proposal must describe specifically how the money will be spent. Please include a description of what other organizational resources will be used to complete the project. For example, estimate the number of hours that members will be committing to the project and/or what other financial resources will be used.
- Evaluation: The proposal must include a description of how your project will be evaluated. Explain how you will assess the effectiveness of your proposed program or project; who and how many people will be served; and what will be achieved with the proposed project. Within two weeks of the conclusion of the project, an overall evaluation or assessment of the project is due in the Office of the Dean of Students.
Submit grant proposals to the Office of the Dean of Student located in the Teaching and Learning Center room 232. Please call 208-885-6757 or email askjoe@uidaho.edu if you have any questions about these grants.
