New Student E-Mail Policy FAQ Starting July 1, 2003, UI colleges and departments will communicate with you via e-mail only at your VandalMail (@vandals.uidaho.edu) account.
Using VandalMail (@vandals.uidaho.edu) will assure that you will receive critical information in a timely and consistent manner, such as:
• Financial aid awards and information • Faculty communications regarding assignments • Housing communications • Student billing information • Class registration information • Transfer class evaluations • Class schedules
UI colleges and departments will communicate with students at their VandalMail (@vandals.uidaho.edu) account. This makes it easy for faculty because there’s no searching for which e-mail to use to send vital information. And as a student you are assured of receiving your mail – no more undelivered messages due to a full inbox.
Am I able to forward my e-mail from @vandals.uidaho.edu to another e-mail address?
No. You cannot forward your official @vandals.uidaho.edu e-mail to another account. You may set your preferred e-mail address to another uidaho.edu domain, for instance address@sub.uidaho.edu. You will not be able to forward your e-mail to @hotmail.com, etc. You may continue to use your other personal e-mail accounts but UI communication will not be sent to those addresses.

How do I sign up for my VandalMail (@vandals.uidaho.edu) account?
1. Visit the Vandal Setup site at http://vandalsetup.uidaho.edu/ and follow the online instructions.
How do I use my VandalMail (@vandals.uidaho.edu) account?
Once you have changed setup your account on the Vandal Setup web page, visit the VandalMail web page at http://vandals.uidaho.edu/.
