University of Idaho Community

Provost and Executive Vice President Doug Baker and the Strategic Action Plan Goal 4 Implementation team invite your participation in a series of workshops on April 14 and 15: “Being Heard: A Prelude to Action; Organization, Culture and Climate” by Dr. Frances Kendall. These interactive and engaging dialogues will focus on issues of university culture, climate and organization, defining our issues, identifying concerns and conflicts, and learning new tools to create organizational and personal change. You will acquire new language for promoting and advancing climate change at the University of Idaho. In addition, you will expand your toolbox of strategies for making change happen and for evaluating that change. Dr. Kendall is a nationally known consultant who for more than 30 years has been committed to facilitating core changes necessary to create work and learning environments that are hospitable to all people. She is author of Diversity in the Classroom and Understanding White Privilege: Creating Pathways to Authentic Relationships, and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The University of Idaho Strategic Action Plan Goal 4 team on Organization, Culture and Climate, seeks to guide a process of organizational transformation that improves climate in all aspects of university life. We strive to reduce barriers and to advance an attitude of making choices. You are part of the university’s growth and your participation in these workshops is important. Your voice is needed to make change happen. We know that university climate has improved in some areas while we have work to do in other areas. We invite you to engage in this process and encourage you to be part of building upon what is working, learning how we can improve, and creating a stronger University of Idaho in the process.

Thank you and see you at the respective workshops!
